Materials science: Why we use polyamide (nylon) instead of polyester

If you search for "black leggings," you'll find thousands of offers. However, the difference between a €20 pair and a premium product lies invisibly in the thread: the polymer.

Nylon vs. Polyester – The feel test

Many brands use polyester (PET) because it's inexpensive. The problem: polyester fibers are often smooth, shiny, and can trap body odors. At OMNANA, we consciously choose high-quality polyamide (Nylon 6.6).

Cotton-touch feel: Our fibers are refined to feel as soft as cotton ("buttery soft"), but possess the functional power of sportswear.
Matte finish: Thanks to the special weave, we eliminate the typical "gym shine". The result is a deep, rich matte finish that makes your leggings perfectly suitable for the office.

The elasticity equation: 25% high-performance elastane

Leggings are only as good as their recovery. Cheap models often use only 10-15% elastane. The result: The pants bag at the knees and constantly need to be pulled up. Our leggings use 25% high-performance elastane. This ensures:

Gentle compression: Shapes the legs and buttocks without cutting into the skin.
Shape retention: Even after 100 squats or 8 hours at the desk, the waistband stays exactly where it should be.

High Waist & Squat Proof – What does that really mean?

100% Opaque (Squat Proof)

Nothing is more frustrating than leggings that become see-through during a deep squat or downward-facing dog. Our solution is interlock knitting. Unlike conventional single jersey, two layers of fibers are woven so tightly together that the stitches don't open when stretched. The result: complete opacity, even at maximum stretch. You see results, not underwear.

The anti-slip high waistband

A high waist is standard these days, but the construction determines the support. We avoid digging elastic bands at the top. Instead, we use seamless bonding technology or double-layered fabric constructions that fit like a second skin. No rolling down, no slipping – no matter how active your day is.
